Kyla's Cakes N Bakes came to Odessa in September of 2013. We are a small bakery with BIG flavor! As a family owned and operated establishment we understand that your family's treats are important to you. We pride ourselves on amazing quality and customer service. We specialize in decorated cakes for all occasions, cinnamon rolls, cookies, and THE BEST cheesecake around. Two of our most unique and popular cheesecake products are our tiered cheesecake wedding cakes, and our cheesecake bites.
Located at 111 N 3rd St. in Odessa, MO 64076 (right BEHIND the MFA building)... we can be a little tricky for some folks to find. We are one street west of Downtown Odessa. Please call 816-230-8101 if you need help! It happens ALL THE TIME!
We are not a "sit and eat" sort of a place, we are a carry out bakery. We offer a selection of 3", 6", and 9" cheesecakes, as well as an assortment of our cheesecake bites for walk in purchase. Here's a little about the faces you see when you walk in.
Myself (Kyla):
I am "Mom" to two daughters, "wife" to Adam Wyatt, who owns and operates the music shop next door to the bakery. Wyatt Music was in Odessa first, and I helped out with that while also working full time at an animal hospital and decorating cakes on the side. I was a Registered Veterinary Technician before I decided to open this bakery. The opportunity showed up, and Kyla's Cakes N Bakes came to be! The big switch happened in September of 2013. I went from working for someone else since I was 15 years old, to owning and operating my own business! I never thought it was something that I could do. There was so much I didn't know and, well....It's hard. Like, REALLY hard. The every day, every night, all of the time... no matter WHAT, I still show up, kind of hard. BUT... here I am doing just that, and I wouldn't have it any other way!
Carrol is also in here most every day. She's my mother. She helps out with all of the things.
Adam is occasionally in here stealing cookies.
Charlotte is my youngest daughter. She is kind of the boss. You'll know it if you come across her.
Lilly is my oldest daughter. She's very rarely in here. She's a preteen with, LIKE, WAAAY BETTER THINGS TO DO. Duh!
There are behind the scenes helpers too. Always, because it takes a village for me to be able to do what I do here.
